Bangla Music Fest 2026
Traditional
The traditional segment comprises of sounds and vibes from a wide variety of genres that represent diversity and depth of spiritual, cultural, emotional versatility of our heritage. We will present Tagore, Nazrul, DL Roy, Ramprasad, Atulprasad, Â Folk, etc. The renditions showcase the most inspiring experience of the rich repertoire of Bengali Traditional Music to the discerning modern-day audience. Music accompaniment are traditional Indian as well as western instruments, to enthrall you with elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, dynamic articulation, form and structure.
Adhunik
In this segment we present Adhunik (modern) and Bangla films songs. We have tried to depict the significant variation in compositions, style and lyrics. There will be signature Salil Chowdhury songs presented in this segment to commemorate his 100.Â
Next Gen
Incredibly talented kids from the SF Bay Area will present a rich palette of bengali songs. These little big musicians will deliver a wonderful production for all age groups to enjoy. This section is the jewel in the crown of the festival. We all get inspired and excited by the energy exuded by  these young folks. With active participation in the endeavor, NextGen imbibes the spirit of togetherness and caring for others while nurturing their artistic capabilities.
Folk
This segment is a celebration of bengal’s vibrant cultural heritage and its connection to the nature and natural world. It encompasses a limitless  range – from the rhythmic and soulful Baul songs, which express spirituality and love for nature, to the energetic and lively Bhatiali and Jhumur songs that often reflect the lives of rural communities and hardworking people. Bengali music of all genres has been tremendously influenced by its rich folk heritage.
Indie
This segment will focus on music that has two elements at the core – globalism, and rich contemporary poetry with varying shades of reality, euphoria and non-conformism. We will include experimentations on poetry, music, sound and presentation. This would typically include Folk-Rock, Ballads, Slow-Rock, Rock from various independent artists and bands, and interesting collaborations.
